Registrations for October 2023 presentation awards are open

The Service Clubs Association of SA invites your club members and guests to attend the 2023 Premier’s October Awards Lunch

The event will be held at the Glenelg Golf Club James Melrose Road, Novar Gardens on Sunday 29th October, 11:30 for a 12 noon start.

For your convenience you can use your visa card and book your reservations by selecting the number of people (in a single booking). Bookings will close on 22nd October.
Cost is $50 per person (children’s menu available) and you can directly book on-line from the link in the website.

2023 Premier’s Community Service Awards are Close on 31st August

2023 Community Service Awards

The committee of Service Clubs representatives would like to encourage all Service Clubs in South Australia to nominate projects and activities that they have been involved with during 2023.

There are 7 categories in the Project Awards, and we would like to thank our Independent Judges who have contributed to the rewording of some categories for clarification, and they are

COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD: This award recognises environmental work with the community, which has established a fauna and flora protection and or rehabilitation activity initiated with the community

COMMUNITY EVENT AWARD: For an outstanding publicity event or an event that raises awareness of an issue and / or funds to assist specific needs in the community

EDUCATION AWARD: This award recognises outstanding projects that use an educational approach to increase understanding of matters of community concern or directly improve access to education and learning

HEALTH AWARD: This award is to recognise a project that strengthens and improves community health

SOCIAL INCLUSION AWARD: This award is for a project that has made a significant contribution to advancing access, equity, diversity, and social inclusion in our community

TEAM AWARD: For a club initiated and cooperative project between two or more Service Clubs from either the same organisation or a variety of Service Clubs that work together for the benefit of the wider community

YOUTH AWARD: This award is to recognise projects and programmes that benefit youth and children to further their development

From the 7 winning projects one will be selected as the Premier’s Distinction Award and will receive a further monetary prize.

There is also an opportunity to recognise an Individual, a Young Person or a School who have contributed in a volunteering capacity to the community

HEIDE TAYLOR COMMUNITY SERVICE MEDAL This individual award will be awarded to an individual who has rendered outstanding voluntary service to the South Australian community. Nominees are not required to be a Service Club member to receive this award

ALLAN SLOAN YOUNG CITIZEN COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD Will be awarded to a South Australian resident aged 15 -25 years. The nominee will be an active and enthusiastic volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, achievement, or service to a community project

HARRY TILLYER SCHOOLS COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD will be awarded to a school that has run a successful Community Service event or program. It may but does not need to be in association with a Service Club

Applications for this year’s awards open on the 1stJuly 2023 and will be accepted until the 31st August 2023.

There will be a luncheon held on Sunday 29th October 2023 to celebrate the work of Service Clubs which have contributed to enhancing the people and communities of South Australia

We thank the South Australia Government Department of the Premier and Cabinet for providing the funds which will be used to provide monetary prizes to the winning projects in each of the categories
